The main selling point of fine grain construction steel is its exceptional suitability for welding, which is the result of its low carbon content of 0.18% for the material S355NL and 0.20% for S460NL.
The outstanding formability of the material, including at low temperatures, is evidenced by the notched-bar impact-bending tests carried out at -50°C and documented in the acceptance test certificate. The sheets are also marked with a CE label (Declaration of Conformity) for construction products, making them suitable for applications in structural engineering and construction engineering in accordance with EN 10025-1. The fine grain structure enhances the material’s workability, even when cold.
